Senior Manager, Technology Run-the-Bank

Purpose The role of Senior Manager is responsible for leading, planning, and coordinating Canadian Business Banking’s Technology Run-The-Bank initiatives and processes.

This role works in close coordination with Canadian Business Banking’s Technology partners to promote efficient and reliable operation of the technology environment and to proactively ensure consistent and quality delivery of technology support, inventory, deployment, and maintenance of Canadian Business Banking’s technology and applications.

While providing day-to-day handling of technology requests, you will also establish regular cadence and governance to deliver timely communication and reporting to support of Canadian Business Banking’s overarching strategic priorities and targets.

The Senior Manager is also responsible for liaising with communications and change management to ensure business line specific requirements are communicated during both internal and enterprise wide projects and that the changes made are geared towards optimizing Canadian Business Banking operational efficiency and user experience.

• Works in collaboration with Enterprise Technology and stakeholder partners to ensure Canadian Business Banking’s Technology Run-The-Bank projects and initiatives, including the design and deployment of systems and services, are prioritized and successfully implemented.

• Point of Contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Canadian Business Banking’s Technology environment, and Technology related processes.

Advises on enhancements and implements best practices and process improvements and when required supporting analysis for root causes of technology and technology related operation issues to initiating corrective action.

• Conducts research and analysis, and incorporates reporting from stakeholder partners, to forecast, identify, validate, develop, and recommend Technology related enhancements to support the business’ strategies and requirements.

• Reviews business requirements and understands user experience and product direction, to assist with driving enhancements to existing applications, standards, and processes; this function has the opportunity to participate in cross-functional teams, including acting as primary business representative to Agile teams in support of larger application related projects and initiatives.

• Develop/Design presentation and dashboarding materials for the purpose of informing the Line of Business as to the overall status and health of the Canadian Business Banking Technology Environment.

This includes maintaining line-of-site into volumes and response times with technology related processes.

• Is empowered to make on-the-spot decisions on Technology project scope and requirements, in alignment with the Canadian Business Banking’s Technology & Workplace strategy.

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Education / Experience / Other Information:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience working in IT operations
• Experience leading and managing large IT projects
• Working knowledge or experience in Agile Methodologies
• Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
• Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
• Strong critical thinking and timely decision-making skills
• This requires an individual who possess a high level of flexibility and adaptability.

• This role may require travel across Canada.
