Administrative Assistant

The Opportunity:

 

Are you an administrative professional who loves organizing and keeping up to date records? Canadian Natural is looking for you! As the Administrative Assistant supporting the Supervisor, Administrative Support and Albian operations team, you will assist in the achievement of departmental goals as they support Albian goals and targets. In addition, you will ensure consistent and timely flow of information between teams in a very fluid work environment. You will excel in this role by utilizing your strong time management and initiative skillset.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collect and enter

    safety meeting attendance in incident log

  • Create absenteeism and overtime reports

  • Check for upcoming progressions and ensure that the organization chart is up to date and any changes are emailed

  • Track vacation and update the 

    vacation spreadsheet – including disability leaves

  • Enter time for hourly employees (key component of this role). Ensure that timesheets are sent to the general foreman for approval and time is balanced for the pay period

  • Charge tailings maintenance time to work orders, enter hazard identifications into spreadsheet, track submission of hazard identifications and record Field Level Risk Assessment (FLRAs)

  • Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta – 

    Albian Oil Sands site

  • Eligible for relocation to Fort McMurray

  • Company sponsored Fly-In/Fly-Out Program with charter flights from Calgary or Edmonton

  • Shift schedule: 8×6 – Thursday to Thursday

  • This is a safety sensitive position

Skills & Qualifications:

  • General Administrative diploma is desired

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in an office environment, priority will be given to candidates with a background in oil and gas

  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JDE, Remedy

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be required to compose letters, documents and emails, on behalf of the manager
