Reporting to the Manager Area Operations North, the Supervisor Maintenance Services is responsible for leading electrical and mechanical technicians in the safe and reliable maintenance of all pipeline and terminal assets in Athabasca North Area. You are a key member of the area leadership team, which will focus on personal safety, process safety, environmental stewardship, and effective maintenance for asset reliability. The Supervisor Maintenance Services plans, directs, and coordinates technical maintenance activities and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements (AER, ABSA, ASME, Canadian Electrical Code, etc.)

What You Will Do:

  • Provides leadership and support of a strong safety culture.

  • Provides direction and mentorship for field technicians to enable success.

  • Build a culture of ownership and accountability where field technicians take pride in their work and in their facilities.

  • Develops staff through training, performance management, and career development.

  • Establish annual performance goals for field technicians that align with the things we value and strategic priorities.

  • Participates in the identification, planning, and supervising the execution of electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical work.

  • Motivates, encourages, and supports field technicians to ensure work is completed with a high level of integrity and quality.

  • Ensure work is detailed appropriately utilizing CMMS (Maximo).

  • Work closely with Regional Maintenance Services to ensure effective maintenance processes are being implemented in support of the Enbridge Maintenance & Reliability Program.

  • Encourage support from field technicians for changes to our maintenance culture (adopting EMRP).

  • Prioritize repair work through collaboration with Control Center and Field Operations.

  • Ensure preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance is performed safely and on schedule.

  • Ensure appropriate maintenance personnel are available through effective scheduling and resourcing.

  • Responsible for ensuring all Company policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines are being followed.

  • Responsible for financial performance in relation to approved budgets, and participate in annual budget development.

  • Responsibility as On Call Supervisor within the rotational on call schedule (approximately 1 week on call, every 6 weeks).

  • Participate in activities to support integration of new projects, such as Design Reviews, Hazard Assessments (PHA, HAZOP), SORT (Operability), etc.

  • Strong focus on continuous improvement, including process and procedure development, as well as leading Incident Investigations.

  • Administrative duties such as timesheet approvals, invoice approvals, purchase order requests, work order requests, fleet mileage reviews, expense report approvals, etc.

  • Participation in Management of Change (MOC) system as required.

Who You Are:Required:

  • Ten plus years of previous field operations/industrial maintenance experience or equivalent mix of formal education and experience.

  • Strong social skills and the ability to form relationships with colleagues and partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, adapt, and be flexible to fast changing demands, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Strong digital literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, and Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo).

  • Excellent written and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, integrity, and a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Teammate who is willing to continually and proactively collaborate, share, and seek information in a team-oriented environment.

  • Intuitive judgement abilities, and sound decision-making skills.

Preferred:

  • Trade Certificate / Technical Diploma related to Electrical or Mechanical (Industrial) preferred.

  • Previous leadership experience considered an asset.

  • Extensive knowledge of effective maintenance practices (preventative, reparative, predictive, condition based, etc).

  • Good organizational and operational skills is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is based in Fort McMurray, located at the Athabasca Terminal on a 8 days on 6 days off schedule.

  • Field office environment with frequent time spent in the field locations.

  • Travel is often required, primarily to remote stations, and occasionally to office locations (Fort McMurray, Edmonton, etc.). Travel is estimated at less than 20% of the time.

  • This position is a Safety Sensitive Position.
