Environmental Technician


This is a Contract position in Fort Mcmurray, AB posted May 7, 2021.

Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an addition to the Environmental Engineering Team in Dartmouth, NS.

We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Technician who is a motivated team player to support our operations.

The successful candidate will possess an interest and have a basic knowledge and experience associated with contaminated sites and associated field work standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct technical field support related to groundwater sampling, potable water sampling, soil sampling, fluid level monitoring, supervision of a drill rig, field data verification, and provide field support as required under direction.

Responsibilities will also include some office work, sample preparation for shipment and organization of daily field notes and reports.

Skills / Qualifications Diploma in a related field such as Environmental Science, or Environmental / Civil Engineering & Technology Experience with environmental field work, such as sampling of different media types is preferred Self-starter, able to complete tasks and follow directions effectively Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency, and attention to detail; track record of quality work products Demonstrated ability to work as part of a project team including all levels of professionals, technicians and subcontractors Reliability, strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented environment are a must Company Overview Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world’s most critical challenges.
