In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education, experience and professional designation requirement as outlined below: Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent as recognized by the relevant association, plus a minimum of 7 years of experience performing and directly responsible for highway design.

Registered, or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers & Geoscientists BC Note: Immediately eligible is defined as being registered as a professional in another Canadian jurisdiction referred to above, and able to transfer that membership to a BC professional association within 6 months of employment.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to have their qualifications reviewed by the appropriate body to ensure they have the necessary requirements for registration.

Experience managing concurrent projects, developing and interpreting highway design project specifications, policies and standards, and providing direction to project teams .

Advanced experience working with highway design practices and standards.

Preference may be given for one or more of the following: Experience using highway design software packages, including Civil 3D and AutoCAD.

Experience supervising and leading design teams.

Experience with technical functions such as: highway and bridge construction methods; mechanics of materials and knowledge of structures; geology and hydraulics; and of construction project issues related to traffic management and public safety.

PROVISO Valid Class 5 B.C.

Driver’s License or equivalent.

If you are not yet registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, please explain how you are immediately eligible (i.e.

currently a fully licensed Registered Professional Engineer or Engineering Licensee member in good standing in another Canadian jurisdiction and can immediately transfer to Engineers and Geoscientists BC ).
