The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview Digital Health focuses on supporting clinical and business systems as the foundation for leveraging electronic data in the delivery of health-care services.

We have an opportunity for a director information and communications technology (ICT) services , who will build and manage a provincially-focused team with a culture of client service to provide ICT services for the public health-care system including Shared Health, six service delivery organizations and other applicable health care partners.

As this role is provincial in nature, the work location is flexible within Manitoba and will be made in consultation with the successful candidate.

This director will take a primary role in the workplace services area of ICT services to support ICT operations and achieve the outcomes defined in the approved ICT strategic services plan and annual operating plan.

Reporting to the executive director ICT services, the director ICT services has direct authority and accountability for client satisfaction, budget management, and operational policy development related to the assigned area of ICT services.

The successful candidate will lead organizational change, ensure ongoing maintenance of technologies and related equipment, lead service management for the service area, support and manage vendor contracts, and ensure effective services are provided to support overall organizational and health-care system requirements.

Experience 10 years of progressive experience in a large, geographically-dispersed ICT service, preferably in health services, including: 5 years of experience managing client service focused ICT professionals maintaining a wide range of complex computer systems and information infrastructure in a shared services environment 5 years of experience developing and implementing annual operating plans focused on client service and leading multiple project teams in the deployment of ICT services 5 years of experience influencing senior management, key stakeholders, and negotiating and managing vendor contracts for outsourced ICT services Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Post-secondary degree in technology, computer science or engineering from an accredited educational institution; Additional education in health informatics is an asset An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Certification/Licensure/Registration Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate Qualifications and Skills Demonstrated mid to senior leadership capabilities.

Physical Requirements Must be able to work safetly in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg Regularly involved in meetings and dealing with competing demands, interruptions to respond to questions are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled Travel throughout the proviince requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle We have a unique ability to work together to make health care better.
